A little About Me
Welcome to the Middle Ages!
Last updated 4-2-2015
My name is Laurel. I am 50 years old, so that's 50 more fabulous years until I turn 100. Unlike most people, I don't have issues about my age. The only year I ever had a problem with my age was when I turned 25. I thought, "Wow! I'm a quarter of a century old" and then proceeded to totally freak out. 30 came and went. It was more like a Wednesday, middle of the week feeling. Please laugh! turning 40 was fun. While everyone else viewed it as "Over The Hill," celebrating in black, as if death were on their doorstep, while being poked fun at by fellow employees, friends and family . . . I took a lighter view of turning 40 - "Welcome To The Middle Ages!"
I'm not afraid of 50, it is half of a 100. I decided several years ago to live to be 100, so I figure I have about 50 more years to share myself with the world. I'm planning my 100th birthday party as I write this. It should be fun. If you are still around you should drop in! I am a wishful thinker. I am also a doer. I see things that inspire me. I pave my own path. I read somewhere that you are either following your dreams or helping someone else follow theirs. I follow my own dreams. People will pull you off that path if you let them. You do need to have a solid plan to rid yourselves of anyone trying to borrow your future. Don't let them. You create your future!
When I was 13-years old I wanted to be a famous singer/guitar player, so practiced every day for hours. My fingers ached and the tips were callused. Then our family moved to California when I was 15-years old. I drastically changed gears and started doing a lot of different things until I was 18. I became a professional Administrative Secretary and a certified masseuse. I got married at 26 and started a family. I have two beautiful children. My daughter just had a beautiful baby girl three weeks ago. I'm now divorced.
I moved to San Diego in April of 2013. I'm happier than I have ever been in my entire life. I make websites for a living. My mom is my business partner. You can check out my website here: http://www.safetyorangewebsites.com/
I will add/update this story later.
