White Salsa
Better known as "Master Tonic"

Best taken at the onset of cold and flu-like symptoms.
This Tonic should knock your socks off and knock that illness right out of your body!

I keep a jar of this, with all the ingredients still in it, in my fridge.  You can keep it in your cupboard.  The ingredients would kill anything that tried to make it rot!  But, it tastes better cold to me.  The jar lives in the back corner on the middle shelf.  When someone gets sick, I spoon out the juice into a glass cup and water it down with juice or water.   By itself, it tastes surprisingly good, but a little OJ makes it better!   I would either skip the peppers or just add a little bit of peppers if you give this to your kids, depending on what they can tolerate.

Ingredients ~

All ingredients must be fresh, and should preferably be organic
  • 1 part fresh chopped organic garlic
  • 1 part fresh chopped organic white onion
  • 1 part fresh grated ginger root
  • 1 part fresh grated horseradish root
  • 1 part fresh chopped hot peppers (cayenne, habanero, serrano, jalapeño, etc.)
  • Organic Apple Cider Vinegar  (Bragg's is a good brand)

Instructions ~
  1. Chop up all of your ingredients into small pieces.
  2. Fill a glass jar about ¾ full with equal parts of the chopped and grated ingredients.
  3. Fill  jar to the top with  apple cider vinegar.  Make sure the ingredients are completely covered by the vinegar.
  4. Close the jar and shake vigorously to mix everything together.
  5. Store jar in a dark place and be sure to shake them once a day for at least 2 weeks.  (You can also place them in a paper bag on your counter.)

Go to this link.  She has great photos.  I borrowed two (hope she doesn't mind!).  I will post my own photos as soon as I make another batch of the tonic.  I don't drain or re-bottle the Tonic into smaller jars like she does.
