I just LOVE this joke. I don't treat it a s a joke though. It's a great life lesson. Here it is:
A mad was out on a boat in the ocean when his boat sunk. He prayed to God to save him. Eventually a small boat came by. The Captain asked the man if he could help him. The man in the water said, "No thank you, God will save me." So the boat sailed away. The man in the water prayed again. Eventually another, bigger boat came by. The Captain asked the man if he wanted some help. The man answered the same as before, "No thank you, God will save me." That boat left as well. The man prayed. Soon a very large boat happened by. The captain of the boat yelled down at the man and asked if he could help him. The man yelled back, "No thank you, God will save me." The captain looked confused, but went on his way. The man prayed. The man eventually died! His spirit left his body and he floated up to Heaven. Once he was through all the red-tape, he got to meet with God. The man asked God why he didn't save him. God looked him in the eyes and said, "I sent you three boats!"
LOL! LOL! LOL! Love it! Love it! Love it!
Anyway, I think life is a lot more like this than you would think. People pray and ask for things all the time. They are so focused on the negative that they don't see the answer right in front of their faces. Hmmmmmmm . . . does that mean God makes stupid people? LOL! Nope! Did you ever see the movie, "Evan Almighty?" Another awesome movie! God (Morgan Freeman) is explaining to the wife that God doesn't give you patience, He gives you opportunity to have patience. God doesn't give you more time with your family, He gives you the opportunity to spend more time with your family. I laughed so hard! It's so true! People are basically missing a lot of opportunities. Life isn't going to be handed to you on a silver platter. How boring would that be? You've got to "work it!" Drugs won't handle it and neither will alcohol. I'm not saying don't drink some wine or a beer every once in a while, but don't expect opportunity to knock on the door and wait for you to answer when you are done with your drunken stupor or evening of hallucinations. He's got other people to see and places to be!
I don't want to beat this thing to death, but you get where I am going with this. Right?
If you pray for something, keep an eye out for those opportunities. The Universe may not give you what you want, but it will give you what you need. Basically, GET IN THE BOAT! LOL!
